- The Power-Pipe must always be installed vertically.
- Insulation is recommended if room temperature falls below 18°C (65°F). To avoid condensation problems, insulation is also recommended when the Power-Pipe System is enclosed in a wall.

Multi-Unit Residential Applications
The Power-Pipe recovers up to 70% of the heat energy that is otherwise lost in drain water. It has proven to be an effective means to reduce the overall building water heating costs by 20 to 40%, immediately after its installation and throughout the building lifecycle.
In multi-unit residential buildings, the Power-Pipe must be used in continuous flow applications, because the device does not store energy. Batch applications, such as dishwashers or laundry machines, are not recommended.
The Power-Pipe pays for itself in 3 to 4 years, which is a highly profitable return on investment when compared to other energy efficiency measures. In addition, financial incentives from governments and power companies may be available to you and make your investment even more profitable.
Industrial/High Flow Applications
For industrial and high flow applications, Power-Pipe Systems are Manifold Systems made up of multiple 4 inches commercial units, connected in parallel. Manifold Systems are available as gravity fed or pumped (on the drain side) units, for applications such as multi-shower rooms in sports centers*. Each simple Power-Pipe unit composing the Manifold System typically carries between 3 and 10 gallons per minute.

In high-flow applications, the Power-Pipe is suitable for non-continuous flow situations because of the substantial energy and money savings that can be realized. In these applications, a custom design is required that creates a continuous flow via the use of mechanical systems using controls, pumps, holding tanks, etc. Please contact RenewABILITY Energy for more information.
To ensure homogenous flow to cover the inner wall of the Power-Pipe's inner drain pipe and to maximize its performance, a PowerSwirl head is integrated into all of RenewABILITY Energy's Manifold Systems. Coated Power-Pipe units are also available for use with caustic (copper corrosive) effluents.
